Meals on Wheels

In April 2021, Cowichan Green Community Foundation (CGCF) began coordinating the Meals on Wheels program, which was previously managed by the Cowichan Seniors Foundation. CGC’s incredible kitchen team prepares fresh and nutritious meals Monday through Saturday, with a chilled meal option available for Sundays. A range of dietary needs are accommodated, with options including meat, vegan, vegetarian, non gluten and dairy-free meals. Each meal also comes with a side salad and dessert.

Our compassionate and committed volunteer drivers deliver meals Monday through Saturday, between 4:00 and 5:30 PM. Whether it’s a holiday or inclement weather, our dedicated kitchen and delivery team ensures that clients can always count on receiving their meal.

This service not only ensures that nutritious meals are accessible to those in need, but it also helps foster meaningful social connections for individuals who may be isolated, while enabling seniors to live independently at home for longer. Meals on Wheels provides an informal check-in for clients who live alone.

New clients, volunteers, and monetary donations are always welcomed. To register, or inquire about volunteering, please see our contact information below.

Please note: Meal delivery is available in the Duncan, Cobble Hill, and Mill Bay areas. We also offer a waitlist for clients in other locations, including Shawnigan Lake, Lake Cowichan, Crofton, and Chemainus.
